7/31/12: White House Press Briefing

In his speech to the people of Poland, where the unemployment rate is 12.4 percent, he praised them for being a Republic of small government, with individual empowerment and free enterprise.

According to a fact check at the Washington Post:

“...Republican presidential challenger Mitt Romney hailed Poland’s economy Tuesday as something akin to a Republican dream: a place of small government, individual empowerment and free enterprise...”

The Article further stated:

“...While it’s true that Poland is one of Europe’s fastest-growing economies and boasts dynamic entrepreneurs, Romney’s depiction of Poland as a place of small government is debatable. Even 23 years after throwing off a communist command economy, the Polish government continues to have a strong presence in people’s lives: it gives women $300 for each baby they have, doubling that sum for poor families; it fully funds state university educations; and it guarantees health care to all its 38 million citizens...”

Once again, we will have to endure the eternal hardship of checking everything Mitt Romeny, his running mate and supporters say to make sure the facts are correct. We were forced to do this in the last election with Sara Palin and John McCain. It’s going to be another long election for the voters.

Why can’t the Republicans hire writers who are competent enough to tell the truth and check the facts?

They lost the last election because they under-rated the average Internet savvy, Citizen in the United States of America, leaning heavily on Main Stream media outlets like: Fox New and overlooking social media outlets, like www.allvoices.com. Even Ma and Pa can do their own spreedsheet these days.
