Bible Verse of the Day
Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?
Walking together… is it important to getting through this life? is it important to our Christian walk?
Let me think for a minute…. It is the second most important thing we need to do, the first being walking with the Father.
Why is it so needed? We let’s look at it in two ways….
Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:12
8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. 1 Peter 5:8-9
The attempt of the enemy is to get us to isolate ourselves from one another, for when he does this, we are easy prey for him. He does this through miscommunication, hurt feelings, arguments, busyness, distance, and lies that are whispered in our ears. He knows that if we band together with each other and with the Father, he will not succeed.
So dear friends when we get the urge to isolate, pull away, take a break, stew in our feelings, whatever you want to term it as, know that you are setting yourself up to be a really good meal for the one who hates you and is intent on destroying your life.
We are made in the image of God, who at His core is community (Father, Son and Holy Spirit), we are made to be in community as well.
Follow the words of Amos and find others to agree to walk through the challenges of life together, one word of caution… it will be messy. This community is filled with broken people, who are not yet fully restored. Stuff will happen and the enemy will try to break these unions apart. Be alert… but do not walk alone.
Have a blessed day,
