In the first half, it appeared the U.S. Olympic men’s basketball team was having more glitch with the referees than with France.
The American basketball team will have to make some modifications as the competition continues, however this Sunday they overcame their own slackness, the refs and a slothful start to beat France 98-71 in their tournament opener.
Kevin Durant scored 22 points in his Olympic debut, Kevin Love had 14 andadded nine points, five rebounds and eight assists.
Meantime Parker, wearing goggles to protect his left eye which was injured by broken glass during a nightclub scuffle in New York, didn't want to give in anything to the Americans. But the San Antonio’s All-Star guard said, “They’re going to be extremely tough to beat.”
As the American squad left the floor, they stopped to hug Mrs. Obama who was on hand to cheer on the U.S. team.
The American team will play next Tuesday against Tunisia.
