After the spectacular opening ceremonies, China establish themselves early as formidable contender in hauling medals as they did four years ago in Beijing. Day 1 action seen the first gold in the Olympics went to China's Yi Siling in women's 10m air rifle shooting. Archery, swimming and wieghtlifting also provides early medals for China.

Olympic Games medal count live coverage on Day 2 recaps seen with China athletes continues to dominate but USA Swimming squad surge the medal counts adding 8 medals for the Americans. The 17-year old American phenom Missy Franklin will be seen action on Women's 100-meter Backstroke tomorrow forecasting another golf for USA.

Among the London Olympic highlight is the comeback Olympian Dana Vollmer of USA in winning Gold in her favorite event Women's 100m Butterfly with time of 55.98 seconds. Vollmer is a member of 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens gold medallist winning 4x200-meter freestyle relay team, but she skip in 2008 Olympics only to win gold in her comeback in the USA team. Ryan Lochte will be back in action on men's 200-meter frestyle as well.
