Cosmic Defense Troops reported the launching of four satellites, including one for military purposes, by Rokot carrier rocket from Plesestsk cosmodrome.

The putting into orbit was done by the Briz-KM upper stage, in the second release this year from the said Russian launching field after a pause of six months of operations in the facility located in Arkhangelsk province, said the official spokesman Alexei Zalatiujin .

Rokot carried to space two Genets-M satellites, one for scientific research, the Yubelirni-2, and the Cosmos, which will fulfill military missions and will turn into Cosmos-2481 after its position in the planned orbit.

Rokot carrier rockets are former UR-100N UPJ or SS-19 Stiletto intercontinental ballistic missiles, according to its name by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), transformed for civilian purposes and can carry up to 2,150 kilograms.
