On Thursday, a wrongful death suit has been filed by the parents of a stuntman who died during production of The Expendables 2.
Last fall, 26-year-old Beijing native Kun Liu was killed in Bulgaria while performing a stunt, which includes a rubbing boat on a dam outside the capital Sofia, and died from wounds of a near explosion.
His parents, Zong Yu Liu and Yan Mei Bei, are suing for funeral and burial expenses, and are seeking damages of more than $25,000 against Millennium Films and stunt coördinator Chad Stahelski.
According to them, Millennium and Stahelski "negligently and carelessly failed to provide adequate protection from hard to the participants of the stunts".
The Expendables 2, the sequel to the 2010 blockbuster, reunites Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Dolph Lundgren, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger; they're join by Liam Hemsworth, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and Chuck Norris.
The film comes out August 17.
