A new swearing hotline, known as "Schimpf-los" or swear-away in German, has been set up by two German entrepreneurs to provide people a phone service where they could dial to release their pent-up aggravation by swearing at the operator on the other end using the most unsavoury language they could muster.
The creator of the service, Ralf Schulte, who set up the hotline with his fellow media services provider Alexander Brandenburger, believed they were doing people a favor with their swearing hotline having provided them a venue where they could blow off their steam and avoid altercations in their workplace or at home.
Callers could do their cursing in every which way imaginable, and operators would even prod them with insulting provocations if they were not creative enough, at a cost of 1.49 euros per minute.
41-year-old Schulte told Reuters “with us you can blow off steam no strings attached. If you're stressed out at work, you go home and your partner gets an earful. Even though it's not her fault."
He said the rate was reasonable saying "For getting everything off your chest, it's a bargain."
