The US women's soccer team roared back from a 2-0 deficit at Hampden Park in Glasgow to defeat France 4-2 today in the First Round of Olympics competition.
From the start of the match, France was ready to go. France jumped out quickly to a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute with a goal from Gaetane Thiney.
France immediately made it a 2-0 lead two minutes later with a top shelf goal from Marie-Laure Delie. However, the US responded quickly whenscored on a header off of a corner kick in the 18th minute to make it 2-1 France. Alex Morgan tied the match in the 32nd minute by lobbing a kick over the goalkeeper. The score remained tied to end the half.
The US grabbed the lead in the 56th minute with a squealer from the top of the box from Carlii Lloyd. The USA Sealed the deal in the 66th minute when Morgan scored with an easy tap in after receiving a cross from Tobin Heath.
