When gunmanstarted firing during the midnight screening of ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ at the Aurora theater, 24-year-old Alexander Teves was shot dead while protecting his girlfriend Amanda Lindgren, 24, from the gunfire. “But, it's like Alex didn't even hesitate. Because I sat there for a minute, not knowing what was going on, and he held me down and he covered my head and he said, 'Shh stay down. It's ok. Shh just stay down.' So I did,” Lindgren told the ABC News.
26-year-old U.S. Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class John Larimer died in the shooting rampage. But he was sucessful to save his girlfriend, 23-year-old Julia Vojtsek’s life. John was hit with a bullet while shielding his girlfriend from a spray of gunshots.
27-year-old Matthew McQuinn and 26-year-old Jon Blunk also died in similar ways while protecting their girlfriends, 26-year-old Samantha Yowler and Jansen Young, 21. The two declined to make any comment now as they are battling to come out from mental trauma, reported the Yahoo! GMA.
