There will be many people who see this as a campaign ploy since it was televised.

But, what is the President of the United States suppose to do? He did the only thing a good man could do, he went in person to share his sorrow, he didn't send a sorry card.

thanks for the comments ... he is the President of the USA and knows best .... yes, meeting people in person and sharing their sorrows is better than sending sorry cards ...

Yes a media grab. A good person would limit himself to a dignified message of support from the White house.
Reply By prabirghose prabirghose | 10 months ago
that would not have had the desired effect ...

The desired effect being good PR for the President.
This is not a criticism of the President individually, but of political gamesmanship which the office has become.

Daeron - no gameship - just emotion

I will agree that there is a lot of gameship with every President, but this was refreshing - to say the least -

raw emotion - doesn't get much better then that - try displaying that in a sorry card!

I have never been disappointed with the way This President has conducted himself. I voted for a president who shows genuine empathy whether in Colorado for the citizens there or Delaware for fallen soldiers and I have not been disappointed. The way to end evil is for good people to communicate with each other. Evil wins when we do nothing. I pray , not so much to understand but that leaders will have the courage to change the causes of the unrest that allow evil to enter into the hearts and minds of a few.

yes - no matter what others may say, he is aware of ground realities and can relate easily with the common man ... very few leaders have that ability ...
