Cultural leaders disappointed with Government over natural resource share

Recently, the King of Bunyoro, 'Omukama' Solomon Gafabusa stormed the Parliamentary Committee on natural resources demanding Government to offer the Kingdom their share on the newly discovered oil. The King was accompanied by Maj. Kakooza said that sinc oil has been dsicovered from their region, they are entitled to a 10% share from the oil discoveries.

The Buganda Kingdom has also been well konwn for asking federal saying that is the only way resouces can be share equitably. The Kingdom spokesperson Peter Mayaga says that they want federal as a Kingdom as to benefit from their resources within their region.

'' We have sent several proposals to the Government requesting federal system of Government but so far no response.'' Said Peter, the Kingdom spokesperson.

Other cultural institutions which have requested share of natural resource include Rwenzururu Kingdom . This Kingdom has game parks and they have also rquested Government to have a share from the revenue got from these game parks like Queen Elizabeth among others.
