The bomb exploded soon after two Katyusha rockets landed near Nineveh Governor Duraid Kashmula's office. He had just left his office to investigate damage caused by two rockets that landed nearby when the car bomb went off. Violence in Iraq fell to a four-year low last month, but there have been a spate of attacks in the past week, especially in and around Mosul.
