An early Sunday morning crash in the New York City leaves at least 5 dead, including 2 young children. The accident occurred in Queens’ Van Wyck Expressway on the Atlantic Avenue that sent another child and two adults to hospital. The Mercedes Benz SUV involved in the crash, was carrying total 8 people.
According to the details, as many as eight people were travelling on the Atlantic Avenue at around 3:15 a.m. when their vehicle, an SUV Mercedes Benz, reportedly smashed into a concrete pillar hard. Due to the impact, the vehicle flipped, rolled over and eventually, ended up on one side; before bursting into flames.
Three of the adult passengers, all women, died at the scene alongside two young children, an 8-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy. The single-vehicle crash left the female driver (45), a male adult (26) and a boy (7) injured. They were all being treated at Jamaica Hospital whereby, the 45-year-old woman driver was said to be in stable condition.
No identifications of either the death victims or the injured ones were released.
