New Orleans Louisiana. A single vehicle accident on Interstate 10 east killed an eight year boy and four others are in critical condition.
A portion of Interstate 10 was closed for vehicle traffic for three hours Saturday night by the police.
Police officer spokesman Frank Robertson said Adrian Antonine III, 8, was a passenger in a GMC sport utility vehicle (SUV) which was driven by a 27 year old male driver who name was not released to the public.
The driver of the vehicle was getting off the Morrison Road exit on the interstate when for an unkwown reason the vehicle hit a curb causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle then flipped over several times before it came to a halt.
Adrian was thrown from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and three passengers were taken to a New Orleans hospital and are in critical condition. The accident is being investigated by the police.
