Tampa Florida. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers officials announced on Saturday the signing of their first round draft pick Mark Barron to a five year contract.
Barron played safety for the University of Alabama for the last three years. Barron was the seventh overall pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2012 National Football League Draft.
Barron is expected to be a starter with the Buccaneers in the 2012 football season.
Barron was selected the team captain twice while he played his college football at the University of Alabama. Barron was a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award in his senior year. The Jim Thorpe Award is awarded to the best defensive back in the nation.
