Air Force Jet lands on a wrong airport accidently

A huge C-17 Air Force plane intending to land at Macdill Air Force Base mistakenly lands at Peter O’Knight Airport on Davis Island.

The military cargo plane's uneectedly landing came to a halt within just 10 feet from the end of the runway which was 3,405 feet long, and 100 feet wide. The plane was arriving from U.S. Central Command operations in southwest Asia with 23 passengers and a crew of 19.

Whether the plane was landed accidently or due to some system fault, it is not clear yet.

With the airport closed down for seven hours, the military plane took off with a new crew at 8.27 pm infront of a huge crowd which was eager to see how the C-17 would take off.

Ryan Gucwa, a pilot, was able to record the landing on his cell phone. He exclaimed:‘Once the wheels touched the ground, I was terrified that there was no way to stop in time,’
