Tiger Woods ATT National, Climbs The Leaderboard

Tracking the Tiger at British Open Golf 2012 leaderboard live coverage continues in day 3 action but all eyes were on fellow American Brandt Snedeker grabs the driver seat with 10-under-par 64 after Friday round 2 outings at Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club. The weather forecast at Royal Lytham is really good between sunny and partly cloudy going to Sunday finale.

Snedeker definitely smokes the competition with six birdies while edging Adam Scott at 9-under-par 67 who played it safe, in the Open Championship leaderboard live race. Scott with 64 on Thursday, has never been in such good shape at a major going into the weekend with 131 total. Scott said, ‘‘I feel like this is the path I’ve been going down, and just happens to have happened here that I’ve put myself in good position after two days at a major.’’

Meanwhile, Snedeker’s 10-under 130 is said to have tied the 36-hole record set by Nick Faldo in 1992 when he won the Open at Muirfield. Snedeker is pretty confident going in day 3 at the British Open 2012 semifinals, ‘‘No bogeys around here is getting some good breaks and playing some pretty good golf,’’ Snedeker said. ‘‘My mantra all week has been to get the ball on the greens as fast as possible. Once I’m on there, I have a pretty good hand for the speed of the greens. Just going to try and keep doing that over the weekend.’’

After tracking Tiger scorecard in day 2 action, Woods is lurking at third with 6-under-par 67 going in todays deciding semifinal round. Woods meanwhile holed four birdies but bogeyed on the par-5 11th and after 2 round has 134. Tiger Woods experience would be a factor in the last 2 days, by playing a conservative, strategic game and putting himself into position to make a weekend charge. "I'm very pleased at where I'm at," Woods said. "We're at the halfway point, and I'm right there in the mix. With the weather that's forecasted on Sunday and [Saturday], it's going to be a good weekend."
