The newspaper said in a report reported on its website, that «there are rumors about the departure of Asma al-Assad, the British-born, from the capital, Damascus, hours after the blast that killed senior officials». The newspaper pointed out that « It is believed that the president himself can be in the port city of Latakia,, where violence increased between insurgents and pro-government forces in the capital».

The «Daily Mail», added , there were signs today that the «uprising 16 months ago has reached a pivotal stage, probably with the arrival of the rebel groups , close to Al Assad for the first time also it appears to occur mass defection of soldiers».
