It seems the authorities of the 2012 London Olympics have made arrangements to make available 150,000 Durex condoms to the contestants which would work out to 15 per competitor in the Olympic Village.

This would be 50% more than the 100,000 handed out at the Beijing Games in 2008

This has been reported in mirror.co.uk of dated 19th of July 2012.

In the 1998 Seoul Olympics, only 8500 condoms were available and over the years, the demand has kept rising steadily.

In the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, it was 50,000 and in the 2000 Sydney Olympics, it was initially 70,000 but another 20,000 had to be procured when the initial stocks ran out!!

In the 2012 London Olympics, 'Pregnancy test kits’ are also believed to have been ordered. After all, as someone has mentioned – ‘there would be a lot of hormones and frustration flying around’.
