Bible Verse of the Day
I will praise you with an upright heart as I learn your righteous laws.
Yesterday I stated that as I originally read this it sounded like one of those “Churchy” things that people say but few know what it really means.
We began to look at this passage in the original Hebrew language to see what we can learn about its full meaning.
We discovered that the first half of this verse (I will praise you with an upright heart) means to give thanks and confession to God with all our heart, mind, and soul.
Today we will dig into the rest of this scripture (as I learn your righteous laws).
The Original Hebrew word for righteous used here is Tsedeq pronounced tseh’-dek which means:
a. what is right or just or normal
b. righteousness (in government)
1. of judges, rulers, kings
2. of law
c. deliverance, victory, prosperity of God as covenant-keeping in redemption
1. people enjoying salvation
The Original Hebrew word for laws used here is Mishpat pronounced mish-pawt’ which means:
1. act of deciding a case
2. place, court, seat of judgment
3. process, procedure
5. execution (of judgment)
6. time (of judgment)
b. right, privilege
c. proper, fitting, measure, fitness, custom, manner, plan
in other words it is believing that God’s ways, methods, timing is meant to lead us to deliverance, victory and prosperity. That His way, although not typically how we would go about it is the right way.
To put that all togheter this verse means to:
to give thanks and confession to God with all our heart, mind, and soul believing that God’s ways, methods, timing is the true way meant to lead us to deliverance, victory and prosperity.
In other words it is walking in faith with Him trusting His heart towards us.
Not so churchy after all, huh?
Walk in this truth today, it will change how you see things.
Have a blessed day,
