The Who - Quadrophenia - Is it in my head

The two surviving members of the legendary British rock group The Who are reviving some of their old tunes and hitting the road this fall and winter for a tour of North America. But before that Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend will give the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London a big send off as a part of the closing ceremonies.

Among the plans for the upcoming tour is to play the band’s rock opera “Quadrophenia” in its entirety. When asked during a press conference whether the band would use holographic images of former members Keith Moon and John Entwistle, Daltrey said that everybody is doing it now and he didn’t see the need to use “the gimmick”. Joining Daltrey and Townshend on the tour to fill out the band are Zak Starkey, Pino Palladino, Simon Townshend, Chris Stainton, Loren Gold, and Frank Simes.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on July 27. Along with the regular seats, the band will be offering some special VIP packages.

The Who is a platinum album selling band that was founded in 1964 and became a part of the British invasion. “Quadrophenia” is a double length album that while the band’s sixth album release, it was their second rock opera after the successful “Tommy”.
