Mrs. Maritess Evalle Moreno fondly called by her co-teachers and friends as “Tess.” She easily dispels any estrangement with anyone with her smiles. She smiles so captivatingly that makes everyone her friend, he/she be a co-worker or plain acquaintance.
Mrs. Moreno is a public secondary school teacher. For the past five years, she has been a member of the faculty of Olongapo City National High School particularly in the Department of Technology and Livelihood Education A.A-IA. She is an established teacher at the prime years of her life in the city’s premier institution of secondary education with a regular-permanent status. Definitely, Mrs. Moreno continues to grow in experience, wisdom and age with the institution. She is on that part of the journey which is still few paces from where she had started.
On July 13, 2012, must have been one of the unusually happy and exciting days for Mrs. Moreno for it was a spontaneous bonding and fellowship lunch date with the core of her fellow workers. It was a luncheon treat at Rico’s “eat all you can” fast food joint. On hand with Tess on this joyous luncheon bonding and fellowship were 5 co-workers and her two immediate superiors. Tess was too shy to reveal the reason for the bonding. However, she disclosed it as the advance shower for her 30th of July birthday. It was a luncheon bonding between Tess and a select core group within her work environment which was an indication that she is held dear and darling for everyone.
Tess is devoted to her job being a teacher. She worries about nothing else except achieving the objectives of her lesson to enable her students to learn more every day. This makes her being liked and loved by her students. She is a friend, a sister and a teacher for her students. Tess found in her students the passion for teaching. Students dotingly address her say “Madam Tess is our best teacher.”
As this year’s celebration of her natal day approaches, Tess has already settled for a more meaningful married life. She is blessed with a very responsible and hardworking husband who is in tandem with her to provide well for a 2 year old daughter Yenyen and the one who is on the way and will due to come in six months time.
Tess is not only a sister and a friend for her students but a loving sister and a caring friend for her co-teachers. They all wish to greet and say “HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND HAVE MORE BIRTHDAYS TO COME FOR MORE BONDING AND FELLOWSHIP.”
