This week on “The Glee Project” the eight remaining contenders – five girls and three guys - must show off their ability to portray a character in theatricality week.
The homework assignment for the week was “I Hipe I Get It” from the musical “A Chorus Line”. The guest judge this week was a member of the “Glee” cast who performed in “West Side Story” prior to being cast on the show – Gran Gustin. Ali won the homework assignment, a one on one mentoring session with Grant, and a featured role in the music video.
The video shoot this week was “When I Grow Up” by the Pussycat Dolls. The video theme was grocery store clerks fantasizing as rock stars. Each contender was assigned a rock star…
Michael was Elvis
Aylin was Madonna
Abraham was David Bowie
Blake was Boy George
Lily was Cyndi Lauper
Ali was Katy Perry
Shanna was Lady Gaga complete with meat dress
and Nellie was Brittney Spears
After a few difficulties in the recording studio and on the video shoot Robert Ulrich said that Ali was the brightest performer of the week and the first on the callback list. Shanna, Blake, Aylin, and Michael were all safe; but Abraham, Lily, and Nellie found themselves in the bottom three and having to sing before Ryan Murphy in last chance performances.
Nellie performed “I’m the Only One” by Melissa Etheridge.
Abraham performed “Stereo Hearts” by Gym Class Heroes and Adam Levine.
Lily performed “Someone Like You” by Adele.
After narrowly escaping elimination last week, Nellie did not survive this week and was not called back.
And then there were seven…
Next week the remaining contenders must do the video shoot in one continuous shot. If there are any mistakes, they must begin again.
