Desoto county man pleads guilty in a student death on Monday

Oxford Mississippi. David Jackson Williams of Olive Branch entered a guilty plea on Monday in a Lafayette County Court to manslughter in the stabbing death of Demetria Bracey who at the time of her death was a student at the University of Mississippi in November 2005.

The police found Bracey's deceased body in Williams Oxford apartment.

Williams was scheduled to stand trial later in July.

Williams was convicted of murder in another trial and sentenced to life in prison but he was granted a new trial after a successful appeal.

Williams side of the story was Bracey and him had a suicide pact.

During the courtroom hearing on Monday Bracey's father said he is happy that Williams did admit guilt to killing his daughter.

District Attorney Ben Creekmore told WTVA.com Williams also entered a guilty plea of kidnapping by invesidenent.

Williams was sentenced to 20 years behind bars and he will go psychiatric treatment as soon as he is released.

Williams is presently in the Lafayette County jail until he is transferred to the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
