Mary Richardson Kennedy was reburied in a Cape Cod cemetery seven weeks after she strung up herself. Her new burial place is 700 feet from her original grave near other Kennedy family members.

St. Francis Xavier Cemetery’s superintendent Frank Maki, told The Associated Press on Saturday that Robert Kennedy's estranged wife was disintered earlier this month. She was first buried on May 19 near her husband's aunt and uncle, Eunice Kennedy Shriver and Sargent Shriver. Robert Kennedy Jr. reportedly requested that his wife be reburied on a hilltop surrounded by empty plots that he intended to buy.

On May 16, Mary Kennedy, 52, mother of four roped herself up in a barn by the couple's home in New York's Westchester County in the middle of bitter divorce proceedings, after Robert Jr. won temporary custody of their four children, ages 11 to 18.

Mary Kennedy fought against drug and alcohol addiction including an arrest for DUI since he filed for divorce couple of years ago. When she died, she had antidepressants in her system, according to an autopsy report.

Robert asserted his wife beat him, threatened suicide before her children, ran over the family dog and drank until she exhausted, according to a court affidavit linked to their divorce. But the Richardson family said his story was filled with lies.

The Richardsons and relatives did not showed up at the funeral Robert Kennedy prearranged in Bedford, N.Y., the Westchester County town where they lived. After her burial, the Richardsons prepared a private tribute to her in Manhattan.
