And the hot mess award of the week goes to…
A Kentucky couple were picked up by police this week after trading a baby for a pick-up truck.
Yes, you read that correctly. And yes, drugs were involved.
Jeremy and Jamiee Brown (seen above) traded a 1999 Dodge Dakota for their infant and the baby’s biological mother, Heather Kaminskey, then sold the truck for $800.
More of the crazy after the jump.
The Browns originally claimed that the baby was the result of an affair between Jeremy and Heather.
The [Lexington] Herald-Leader said police then questioned Kaminskey’s mother, who claimed that her daughter, wanted on meth charges, left Florida in January when she was nine months pregnant. The Sheriff’s Office told the Herald-Leader that Kaminskey previously had two children taken away and chose to have this baby in Kentucky to dodge Florida’s child-protection workers.
The Browns were charged with human trafficking (irony!) and face up to 20 years in prison. Kaminskey is still on the loose.
