Meanwhile the assistant political agent of Jamrud in Khyber Agency Bakhtiar khan issued a notice to the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami Khyber Agency here on Saturday urging them to keep short their sit in, which has been scheduled on July 17 from Peshawar Baghe Naran to Babe Khyber in light o fthe vulnerable law and order situation. APA Jamrud Bakhtiar Khan told this scribe that it was better for the leadership of JI to suspend their protest rally and sit in in the larger interests of the local people and transporters because the law and order situation was not normal there. We are not opposed to the peaceful political activities in the tribal areas but by the time the situation is not suitable for the political gatherings, APA Jamrud said, adding that JI could hold their gathering in Jamrud sports stadium.
JI Khyber Agency chief Shah Faisal Afridi in his reaction argued that JI believed in peaceful democratic struggle in the region, adding the July 17 march and protest sit in against the restoration of the NATO supplies had been decided by the provincial leadership of JI that is why the political administration or the government should approach their top leadership. JI would stop NATO supplies to protect the tribal areas and the entire Pakistan, JI Khyber chief opined, saying the drone attacks were against the security and sovereignty of the state, which can never be allowed in the tribal areas.
