Las Vegas Nevada. Blake Griffin will miss the 2012 Summer Olympic Games due to a torn meniscus on his left knee.

Griffin first injured his knee in Game 5 of the National Basketball Association (NBA) Western Division quarterfinals versus the Memphis Grizzles. He suffered the injury again on Wednesday when he collided with teammate John Wall in a scrimmage.

Griffin went to Los Angeles to have an MRI on his left knee. The Los Angeles Clippers said Griffin will undergo surgery to repair his injured knee but they doubt he will not be able to play in the 2012-13 NBA season.

Griffin suffered the injury the day after he signed a contract extension for five years worth $95 million which will keep Griffin under contract with the Clippers through 2018.

University of Kentucky standout Anthony Davis who was drafted by the New Orleans Hornets will replace Griffin on the Team USA roster.
