Nina Simone - My Man's Gone Now

She bares her broken heart with passing breeze

Which tarries just to listen for a while

To bring some comfort to forgotten smile

And stroke her hair to bring her mind some ease

-

She speaks to it of love that was so vile

A barren desert feeding off her pleas

His promises were only words that tease

What once was she was stolen by his guile

-

The gentle breeze then whispered girl to sleep

With fragrant scents from Joyous yesteryear

And wiped away the tears which bore her pain

-

The breeze to storm with vengeance it must reap

Upon the source of tears he didn’t hear

Which will forever cover him with rain

The tears of a woman can be impromptu;but prolongued weeping is grief.
