It’s the finals for the three remaining artists on “Duets”. This week the three singers who survived the fan votes will have to perform a singer’s choice duet and perform a single. And next week the inaugural winner will be crowned.
The show opened with all four of the superstars performing “Get Ready”.
“Duets” host revealed that after finding himself in the bottom several times Jason Farol is in the finals. And with J Rome also safe, for the first time one of Jennifer’s singers was in the bottom two.
Bridgit Carrington and John Glosson were in the bottom two with Bridgit being eliminated leaving John Legend to join Robin Thicke with no singers in the finals.
Three guys – Jason Farol, John Glosson, and J Rome – will battle it out for fan votes, a recording contract, and the title of winner of “Duets”.
The first amateur performance of the night was from J Rome and Jennifer with “Break Even”. Robin noted that J Rome made the song his own and sounded great singing it. John said that he’s decided everything’s right for J Rome’s voice; adding that J Rome and Jennifer have great chemistry. Kelly called J Rome so good and noted that J Rome went outside the box.
Next up was Kelly Clarkson with her lone remaining singer – Jason Farol; the duo performed the Billy Paul hit “Me and Mrs. Jones”. Jason performed the song a cappella to save himself from elimination earlier in the season. Jennifer calaled Jaosn a lovely little soul singer in a Filipino body; adding that Jason did a great job and has grown over the season. But John was not so enthusiastic saying that he didn’t love the song for Jason and was a little worried. Robin said that he could see why teens are going crazy over Jason but would have liked to see a little more naughtiness from Jason.
The last duet performance of the night was from the hometown duo of John Glosson and Jennifer Nettles who performed “The Prayer” made popular by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli; with Jennifer performing the Italian. John Legend said John Glosson had a magnificent voice and did a great job. Robin called John the Georgia Bocelli; adding John had a magical voice. Kelly said that there is something super special and hypnotic about John’s voice.
Time for round two and the solo performances from the amateurs.
J Rome starts off the solo performances with the Stevie Wonder hit “Signed, Sealed, Delivered”. J Rome did more than just sing; he put on a show, even serenading the judges and doing a little dancing. J Rome earned a standing ovation for his performance.

The final performance of the night was Jason Farol with the Bruno Mars song “Runaway Baby”.
After all of the performances the judges had their say. Robin said that all of the guys did a great job but felt John sang the best and Jason brought the house down.
