A report by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights indicate that Syrian troops have used armoured tanks and helicopters to massacre more than 150 people in the central province of Hama in Syria.
The target was a mosque in a village of Treimsa with population of 7000 and the bombardment went on for 10 hours – people had, reportedly, taken refuge inside the mosque to escape death.
However, a rebel leader puts the toll at around 200.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights have said that over 17,000 persons have lost their lives in the ongoing uprising which started in mid-March 2011 but it is not possible to verify the figures.
Incidentally, the UN has stopped keeping track of these deaths from end-2011.
