Singer Usher is going through a hard time after his stepson's accident. He has now reportedly pulled himself out of an awards show due to the incident.
Usher is prioritizing his family over his work these days. The singer has reportedly pulled out of an awards show to be with his stepson and ex-wife. Usher's stepson, Kyle Glover, from his ex-wife, Tameka Foster, met a terrible accident over the weekend and is now in intensive care unit, fighting for his life.
A family friend's watercraft hit Glover and another female companion of his and they had to be rushed to the hospital with Glover declared brain dead.
Since the accident, Usher has been staying with Foster, despite the fact that a bitter divorce has taken place between them.
The awards show from which Usher has pulled out was ESPN's Awards show, which took place in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.
Usher was also due to present a prize at the ceremony, but due to his absence, someone else presented it in his place. ESPN holds this awards function every year to recognize outstanding sportsmen. The awards show is titled ESPY, which stands for Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly and this time around the awards show took place at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles.
According to reports, the terrible accident took place on Sunday at Lake Lanier in Atlanta. Kyle Glover was floating in an inner tube, along with a 15-year-old unidentified female companion, when a jet-ski came and hit them. Glover faced the brunt of the force from the accident, while his female companion suffered milder injuries. He still remains at the hospital on life-support unit and so far, the family has not decided to take him off of it.
Authorities are investigating the incident and it has been learnt that the person riding the jet-ski was Usher's family friend. The whole incident has been ruled as an accident, but authorities are going to re-create the entire scene with the help of computer graphics so that it can be ascertained how it all happened.
After the completion of the investigation, Usher will have a choice to press charges against that family friend.
