With his concrete plans to cut government waste and audit the Federal Reserve Bank, Ron Paul didn't seem destined to lead a freedom movement. With a goal to cut $1 trillion in spending during his first year by eliminating five Cabinet departments (Commerce, Energy, HUD, Interior, and Education) as Commander-in-Chief, it didn't look possible on paper. Nor did any of his plans to abolish the TSA, end corporate subsidies, stop foreign wars and aid, look like something that may catch on. But catch on it did!
Dr. Paul's message set both young and old ablaze with a new spirit and vision of a bright future that surely will not die out anytime soon--no matter how hard the establishment tries to smother the flames. Speaking of a white heat, Ron Paul's crusade may rise BIG this Saturday in Nebraska when his revolution could take its fifth state (according to the mainstream media) or his seventh state (according to his supporters) by gathering the majority of delegates in Grand Island. Which will truly be a day of victory for the Campaign for Liberty movement and could cause even a stronger wildfire going into Tampa.
It is getting a bit humid in the GOP camps just thinking about what could transpire in the Cornhusker state. Feeling all hot and bothered, Jordan McGrain, Nebraska GOP Executive Director, communicated that he has actually hired security (first time ever) for the July 14 convention. The proactive McGrain hopes to ensure the safety of all the delegate hopefuls in the Mitt Romney and Ron Paul arena, since it has been reported shouting matches and a bit of police action took place that was, well, quite out-of-control, to put it lightly, according to a Reason.com article with a headline that sums up the event: The Ron Paul War Over Nebraska Delegates: Paul's Last Stand with the GOP?
But, really does Ron Paul need to wait to become president to make a difference? I personally believe that Ron Paul is an American hero who will go down in the history books. One day we'll be telling our children's children about this great man, who incidently is busy working on a plan to get a vote in the House to audit the Federal Reserve. What a day that will be for the American people, with mouths dropped open, to wake up to the realities of our immoral, dishonest and unconstitutional central bank that prints money out of thin air. It is not a dream, there is corruption all around this country which is the very reason we are living in such dismal economic times.
We don't need to be doomsday preppers who fill our pantries with food that will last us for years because we don't know what tomorrow brings; we don't need to arm ourselves to keep our families safe from looting and danger that could come if times get tougher, do we? No need to only keep our eyes on Nebraska, America--lets open our eyes, ears, and minds to what is going on all around us every day. Don't say, "I hate politics." Learn, grow, and do something. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. Who can we vote for that will fit that definition? Obamaney? No more insanity! Lets be a part of restoring America, a chance to be a part of the solution. May we choose wisely, may we get busy-- may we choose freedom, America!

Hmmm. Well, I hate to say this but we really have what the Romney controlled convention will say that we have. If they control the credentials committee they can keep some of our people out and they have shown at the state level that they have the will to do that."

"War is a racket" Smedley Butler, decorated Marine.
Excerpt from a speech delivered in 1933, by Major General Smedley Butler, USMC.
War is just a racket. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of people. Only a small inside group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few at the expense of the masses.
I believe in adequate defense at the coastline and nothing else. If a nation comes over here to fight, then we'll fight. The trouble with America is that when the dollar only earns 6 percent over here, then it gets restless and goes overseas to get 100 percent. Then the flag follows the dollar and the soldiers follow the flag.
I wouldn't go to war again as I have done to protect some lousy investment of the bankers. There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket.
There isn't a trick in the racketeering bag that the military gang is blind to. It has its "finger men" to point out enemies, its "muscle men" to destroy enemies, its "brain men" to plan war preparations, and a "Big Boss" Super-Nationalistic-Capitalism.
It may seem odd for me, a military man to adopt such a comparison. Truthfulness compels me to. I spent thirty- three years and four months in active military service as a member of this country's most agile military force, the Marine Corps. I served in all commissioned ranks from Second Lieutenant to Major-General. And during that period, I spent most of my time being a high class muscle- man for Big Business, for Wall Street and for the Bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism.
I suspected I was just part of a racket at the time. Now I am sure of it. Like all the members of the military profession, I never had a thought of my own until I left the service. My mental faculties remained in suspended animation while I obeyed the orders of higher-ups. This is typical with everyone in the military service.
I helped make Mexico, especially Tampico, safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefits of Wall Street. The record of racketeering is long. I helped purify Nicaragua for the international banking house of Brown Brothers in 1909-1912 (where have I heard that name before?). I brought light to the Dominican Republic for American sugar interests in 1916. In China I helped to see to it that Standard Oil went its way unmolested.
GOVERNMENTS TEND TO FORGET PEOPLE LIKE YOU "OLDTIMER", THOSE WHO "KNOW" WHAT WENT ON WHEN IT HAPPENED. THESE THINGS AREN'T TAUGHT IN OUR SCHOOLS, THE INSIDIOUS THINGS OUR GOVERNMENT DID FOR IT'S OWN GAIN, THAT WASN'T ALWAYS FOR THE GENERAL POPULACES WELL-BEING. LONG AGO I BECAME DISILLUSIONED WHEN THE COVER UP OVER JFK HAPPENED. I RECOGNIZED WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED WOULD NEVER BE TOLD TRUTHFULLY & THAT MOST POLITICIANS WERE LIARS. I STILL FEEL THAT WAY TODAY BECAUSE IT SHOWS UP WAY TO OFTEN, THE LACK OF TRANSPARENCY TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.......;P
Nice comment from Oldtimerepublican too.
We suggested it might be a good idea to get Body Guards for the NE Delegates but guess nobody thinks we need them. Still think it would be a good idea to hold a Money Bomb and raise funds for Security!!
