And the sons of Jacob came out of the field when they heard it: and the men were grieved, and they were very wroth, because he had wrought folly in Israel in lying with Jacob's daughter: which thing ought not to be done.

-- Gen. 34:7 (KJV)

Rape is something that ought not to be done. Notice that Dinah's brothers were all pissed off while Jacob said and did nothing. That shows how dysfunctional Jacob's family was because he preferred Joseph above the rest of his children. Therefore, Jacob had no compassion for the rest of his kids. Curses upon all rapists!

Numerical Analysis: The numerical pattern for this verse is 7,5,3,4. (7) To be complete, move immediately. (5) To stay in God's presence, be grieved when hearing about a woman being raped so that you will look to help prevent more rapes in the future. (3) To stay in the Spirit, be angered when hearing about a woman being raped so that you will look to help prevent more rapes in the future. (4) To stay in God's Word, do not do foolish acts towards others.
