Philippines Comedy King Dolphy Quizon passes away at the age of 83.
Rodolfo Vera Quizon, Sr in real life has been in the Makati Medical Center under Intensive Care Unit for weeksdue to his Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. In recent weeks he undergo blood transfusions and struck by pneumonia. At exactly 8:42 pm July 10 the comedy king leaves the world for peace in the presene of his longtime partner Zsazsa Padilla and his children.
His son director and actor Eric Quizon immediately leave the location where he is presently filming upon hearing the last moments of his father.His remains lies at the Heritage Park in Taguig City. He should be celebrating his 84th birthday this coming July 25.
He entered Philippine movies through the help of Fernando Poe Sr the father of his bestfriend the late Fernando Poe Jr. H e was 19 when he star on the movie Dugo at Bayan using his real name. In 1940s when he become a radio talent along Panchito who becomes his longest buddy in showbizness. In 1952 he was already a talent of Sampaguita Pictures as his fellow radio talent Pancho Magalona introduced him to the producers. In 1964 he entered ABS-CBN when owner Geny Lopez offered him to have his own comedy show. For long years the station was his home and one of the theater of the network named after him known as Dolphy Theater. Most of the important presscon of the network are held of the said theather. His comedy show Home Along Da Riles aired in 1992 until 2003 was the longest comedy sitcom runs in the Philippine television history.
Philippine showbiz industry saddened to hear the news his death. Dolphy has been an inspiration by Filipinos and young comedian entertainers.
