The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) North Rift Branch is urging the governing body to make interventions over the matter regarding the cancellation of the Copa Coca Cola under seventeen tourneys in the North Rift region. The tournament which was scheduled to take place on Saturday this weekend was apparently cancelled in the final minutes under very unclear circumstances.
However, attempts by the aggrieved party to try and seek for answers regarding the issue were met with deaf ears. No one was available to attend to their grievances. Joseph Kiptash, the FKF North Rift Branch Chairman asked the governing board to unravel the mystery and shed more light on the unexplained cancellation of the fixtures. Kiptash did clarify that they are yet to receive any official communication from the National office since the unusual nullification of the tourney. The matters surrounding the issue are said to be steered by various quotas who foresee the governing and management of the game in the region. “We hereby feel left out in the dark because the event was meant to select the preferred team that will indeed represent us during the forthcoming Provincial Championships which will be held in Nakuru later this month. We are urging the FKF head office to make interventions and assist us hold the event,” Kiptash lamented.
