Wimbledon 2012: Federer beats Djokovic to reach final

The third seed Roger Federer became the first man to reach eight Wimbledon singles finals, beating defending champion Novak Djokovic with a captivating conquest under the Center Court roof with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, ,6-3.

It took the third seed Swiss only two hours and 19 minutes to reach his 24th Grand Slam final and end the Serb’s reign.

The world number three will next face Andy Murray, who became the first Briton to reach the final in 74 years.

The world number one Djokovic said the error proved to be fatal and later admitted he played badly in the last set.
