A gang of men are being held in custody by police in Nakuru for allegedly being involved in a defilement case of a 13 year old minor. The case which was presided over by Resident Magistrate Judicator Nthuku saw the men arraigned separately in a Nakuru Law Court to answer to the charges which were reported to the Court on February last year.
The gang of men is expected to face trial separately, and the first to appear in court was Dominic Ombaga. According to the prosecutor of the case, the men are reportedly to have taken turns in committing the awful act to the young girl. The men are said to have cornered the girl and attacked her at Kaprembwo estate that evening as she was departing from a shop. It then ensued that they took turns on the girl as they committed the offence which severely injured her.
Witnesses account presented before the court confirmed that the girl was found lying unconscious at a foot path full of blood stains. Her clothes were said t be torn and her lips ruptured indicating a nasty physical abuse. The girl was quickly rushed to Nakuru District hospital where the medics report indicated that the girl had her private parts ruptured and severely injured after the ordeal. She was however admitted for a period two weeks before she could be released to recuperate at her home.
Solely facing his charges without the company of his fellow culprits, Ombaga denied the charges and the case is still on awaiting a hearing from the other culprits who shall follow suit.
