These will be the seventh time both players have met head to head with Murray as favorite leads 5-1 over the Frenchman. Tsonga's lone victory against Murray came in the first round of the 2008 Australian Open. It is the forth semifinal appearance for Murray after beating David Ferer in the quarterfinals while second for Tsonga in this critical round at All-England Club.

It is also the third attempt of Murray Wimbledon semifinals before being dispatched by Rafael Nadal and Andy Roddick. All in all Murray came into this game as favorite to win over Tsonga not to mentioned the home crowd that will be rooting for him.

But the Frenchman has been playing in his best tennis in his life so far. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is ready to spoil the Andy Murray party, "When I play against Andy, what is difficult for him is that everybody believes he will be playing against a guy he is supposed to beat. There will be extra pressure on him because it's not Rafa and it's me." he added "there is nothing to fear."

The No.5 ranked Tsonga survived against Kohlschreiber in the quarterfinal beating the German 7-5, 4-6, 7-3, 6-2 in an emotional win.
