The Falling down Manholes story. Manila, Philippines

As of July 4, 2012, Nagpa-Patrol Zyann Ambrosio reporting in her TV Patrol program, ABS-CBN News, disclosed that, according to the MMDA (Metro Manila Development Authority), it will be filing charges versus road contractors who have willfully and indiscriminately covered some 661 road manholes with asphalt in Metro Manila streets. These manholes which are intended escape routes for rain and flood waters can hardly be located because they were ‘blinded’ by asphalt, which impede water to escape and thus buildup and caused rapid flood in various areas, the MMDA added.
