The Ministry of works has suspended services for four engineers following the mismanagement of funds. The suspension of these engineers has come at a time when investigations are going on.

It is estimated that over 8billion uganda shillings could have been lost in the scam through irregular payments to contractors and payment for unexcuted work.

President Yoweri Museveni has directed the suspension and the subsequent arrest of the four engineers implicated in the mismanagement of the works fund.

The suspected engineers include Paul sesanga, Francis Abelkane, James Mutegana and eng.Kagoda.

The minister for works eng. Abraham Byandala without giving detailed information said that the statements of the four suspects has been given to the Criminal Investigation Department for further investigations.

''All i know is that separate statements were submitted to CID police fro further investigations and further action will be taken against the four engineers involved in the misuse of the works fund'' said eng. Abraham, the works minister.

Thousands of government projects have been frastrated as a result of mismanagement of project funds resulting into poor service delivery to the public. A case in point is the 'global fund' which was ment for fighting HIV/AIDS ended up mismanaged by then the two health ministers.
