New photos show Georgia 24-year-old Aimee Copeland smiling as she was discharged on Monday from Doctors Hospital in Augusta where her hands, a leg, her other foot and some abdominal tissue were amputated to save her life.
She seemed happy and comfortable to pose with hospital workers as she left hospital and when she was in the ambulance.
Her parents pushed her on a wheelchair as they all walked around the outside of the hospital.
Aimee Copeland's father told The Associated Press on Tuesday his 24-year-old daughter plans to transfer Monday from Doctors Hospital in Augusta to an inpatient rehabilitation center. Andy Copeland says she will spend 6 to 8 weeks there learning to move herself after having her left leg, right foot and both hands amputated.
