As we mark the seventh anniversary of the 9/11/01 attacks on America, this short cartoon provides a much-needed perspective on the culture of fear, paranoia and suspicion that has become so prevalent here in the USA since that horrible day.
Powerful without being pointed, humorous yet entirely tasteful and not at all conspiratorial, the message goes right to the heart of what Americans need to hear. We will never forget the events of Sept. 11, 2001, nor will we ever lower our guard. But no longer can we allow Fear and War and Division to be the primary driving forces behind the kind of future we create. It's time for America to be America again.
As Uncle Sam reminds us, clear thinking is hard to come by when we're scared.
