Anderson Cooper's Mea Culpa

For the 4th of July, fireworks has been lit when Anderson Cooper openly admit that he is gay. Despite being tagged as gay for the past years and avoiding discussing his private life, Cooper has been considered as one of the 50 most powerful gay men and women in America by Out magazine. That was way back in 2007. Hence, his admission to Andrew Sullivan which was published on July 02, 2012 through Daily Beast’s that he is gay was almost expected by everyone in his circle especially in Hollywood.

On his email, Anderson stated “"The fact is I'm gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn't be any more happy, comfortable with myself, and proud."

Anderson is currently an anchor for CNN for his show Anderson Cooper 360 as well as hosting his talk show Anderson which airs during daytime.

With his open admission, Anderson received outpouring support from his fellow media personalities like Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Tyra Banks, Neil Patrick Harris, Joan Rivers, Ellen DeGeneres and LeAnn Rimes. Sentiments of his friends and supporters echoes support while challenging others to come out of their closet as well. Anderson on the other hand thanked all the people who tweeted and supported his decision to come out and wishes everyone a happy 4th of July.
