A new round of Iran nuclear talks concluded Tuesday after 15 hours of closed-door meeting in Istanbul, Turkey, with no substantial progress achieved, according to sources. The expert-level talks between Iran and the P5+1 -- Britain, China, France, Russia, the United States plus Germany -- aimed at exploring common ground for full-fledged talks after previous meetings failed to make any breakthrough. The talks continued with the remaining issues after previous talks in Moscow: First, whether Iran can reduce the concentration of the enriched uranium to 3.5 percent or five percent; second, whether Iran will completely freeze the nuke activities in Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant; and third, whether western countries will stop the sanctions on Iran, according to sources with the Chinese delegation. However, no substantial achievement was made during the talks due to disputes. Iran made no concession in the meeting after EU's oil embargo over Iran was in place on Sunday. The United States and EU have imposed several rounds of sanctions to pressure Iran to give up its uranium enrichment activities. The latest round of EU oil embargo against Iran took effect on Sunday, days after some fresh US sanctions started prohibiting the world banks from conducting oil transactions with Iranian banks. During the talks, Iranian officials criticized the sanctions on Iran's oil exports.
