On Sunday, a registered sex offender was taken into the custody in Portland, Oregon; the 49-year-old attempted to sexually abuse a minor. Already convicted in 1993 for sodomy, Adam Lee Brown allegedly stabbed the 10-year-old multiple times; upon his refusal to ‘give in.’ However, the would-be victim fought off his attacker successfully and bravely; until the help arrived.
The incident occurred at a Wendy fast food restaurant’s restroom whereby, the alleged attacker forced an unidentified boy, 10, into the restroom’s bathroom and tried to sexually assault him. The boy however, kept on resisting until his rescuers, his father and one of the Wendy’s managers, arrived and started banging on the bathroom door.
According to police, annoyed over the child’s constant resistance, Brown allegedly brought out a knife and stabbed the poor boy multiple times. When the manager and boy’s father interrupted, Brown was left with no choice but to release the boy though he locked himself inside the bathroom and refused to come out.
One report says that after he released the child, the patrons banded together and successfully held Adam Lee Brown; until police arrived. Following 2-hour-long negotiations from his ‘hideout,’ the alleged attacker surrendered to Portland cops, without incident. And though he claimed he was equipped with a gun; police subsequently said there was no gun found on Brown.
However, cops successfully retrieved the knife Brown had stabbed the child with. Wanted by cops for violating an outstanding parole order, Brown now faces ‘first-degree kidnapping’ and ‘attempted murder’ charges. In addition, he also faces four counts of false information furnished to a police officer, first-degree coercion, first-degree sex abuse and first-degree assault. He was held on a $2 million bond.
The boy was immediately rushed to a nearby medical facility where he had to undergo immediate surgery for the injuries he received during the assault.
