Canada: Ontario Hydro Crews help U.S. crews restore power in U.S.

200 Hydro One crews members from Ontario Canada will help restore power in Baltimore,, Virginia, and the Washington DC area. The disastrous storms killed 22 people and power to three million homes is knocked out.

There are stil almost 1.8 million people who do not have electricity as crews battle tol clear downed trees and restore lines. Hydro One has an agreement with North American utilities to help out when there are emergencies of this type.

In February of 2010 Hydro One helped out in Vermont and int Sept. 2008 in Ohio. U.S. officials fear that the death toll could climb as citizens face searing heat without power for air conditioners.
