Scottish actor Kevin McKidd joined his costars Katherine Sarafian, Craig Ferguson, Robbie Coltrane, Kelly MacDonald and Mark Andrews at the European Premiere of “Brave” on closing night of the 66th Edinburgh International Film Festival at Festival Theatre on June 30, 2012 in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Donning his blue, maroon and black tartan kilt (unsure what clan it belongs to), teamed with a black jacket, black bowtie, black shoes and a brown sporran, Mckidd the former “Rome” series star, is the voice of Lord MacGuffin in “Brave.”
Mark Andrews, who was there with his wife Patricia and their children, also wore a similar kilt, which he accessorized with a bright turquoise sporran and the same tartan was worn as a scarf by actress Katherine Sarafian, who also wore a teal one-shoulder dress.
Kelly Macdonald, who is the voice of the heroine “Merida,” was attending with her husband Dougie Payne in his olive green kilt ensemble, wore a royal blue and white floral dress, teamed with black sandals.
Determined to make her own path in life, Princess Merida defies a custom that brings chaos to her kingdom. Granted one wish, Merida must rely on her bravery and her archery skills to undo a beastly curse.
Produced by Walt Disney, “Brave” is set in Scotland in a “rugged and mythical time,” as the storyline goes, featuring the royal “Merida,” who is an aspiring archer and “impetuous daughter.”
Merida makes a reckless choice that unleashes unintended peril and thus she is forced to spring into action to set things right!
The animated film also uses the voices of actors Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson, Julie Walters and John Ratzenberger.
