Los Angeles California. Sources close to the situation report Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard met on Friday in Los Angeles with the new Magic general manager Bob Hennigan and Howard told him he wants to be traded to the Brooklyn Nets.
Hennigan was noncommital after Howard told him his desire to play for the Nets.
Magic spokesman Joel Glass confirmed the first meeting between Howard and Henningan happened but did not disclose any information on the talks between the two of them.
Howard picked up the final year of his contract with the Magic on March 15. After that date he claims he was "blackmailed" into signing the "opt in" clause which forbids him from becoming a free agent this summer.
Sources close to Howard say he is comtemplating taking legal action against the Magic by having the players union helping him in the lawsuit.
Howard asked the former Magic general manager Otis Smith in getting traded to the Nets. Smith told Howard he was working out a deal to get him sent to the Nets but Smith was relieved of his duties just after the basketball season ended.
