MANILA, Philippines- Despite harassment and attempts to sabotage the mission, the Save Bondoc Peninsula Movement accomplishes its mission of giving service to the people of Quezon province.

According to the statement stated by the SBPM, it stated that members of the military desperately attempt to discredit the mission and destroy its related activities.

"This morning, the military released a statement that the mercy mission failed its duty 'in response to the people's clamor for peace'" according to Orly Marcellana, spokesperson of the Save Bondoc Peninsula Movement.

"In fact, residents of Quezon province were happy in our arrival." According to Marcellana. "After all, it seems new to them the services we have bout to them because even the soldiers who are encamped for long gave fear instead of service."

The said mercy mission is been led by the Save Bondoc Peninsula Movement, an alliance of mass organizations, health workers and churchpeople willing to provide medical, spiritual and cultural services, relief operations and psychological therapies especially to childeren who experienced military-related abuses.

The said "Mercy mission" gave service to almost 1,500 residents of Barangay Talisay in San Andres and Barangay San Francisco B in Lopez, Quezon. Almost 800 children who were experienced trauma were given psychosocial theraphy.

Military decries church participation, SBPM exposes attempts to undermine mercy mission's success

According to the military, it stated that volunteers of the SBPM had a rally and even having messed up with the church. However, according to Marcellana, the United Church of Christ Southern Luzon Jurisdiction participated and officiated the said mercy mission assailed by the military; the UCCP also refuted the military's statement.

Marcellana also laughed at the alleged medical mission sponsored by the military during the mercy mission. He even exposed the means in order to sabotage the said mission including the unleashing of metal spikes, seizure of goods and volunteers, as well as invoking fear to those willing to participate in the mercy mission.

"it seems that the military are pitiful in doing dirty means to undermine the successful mercy mission. Our only objective is to provide social services and it continues to be blocked or harassed us by the military." According to Marcellana.
